The Way of the Turtle - The Slow and Steady Path to Better Health

Why Do We Yo-Yo?

Are You Eating the Wrong Diet for You?

There are a bazillion diet books on the market, and more Food Pyramids than in Egypt. How do we go about designing a diet most likely to work for us long-term? Despite the claims of the Diet Gurus, there is NO one-size-fits-all diet. Many diet experts are beginning to acknowledge this. One of the main focuses of this site is to try to help individuals find the best diet for them, where they feel at their best and obtain optimum health, so I won't go into detail here. Suffice it to say that to prevent yo-yoing (weight cycling, at least 2 requirements should be met:

1) You should not be hungry - finding the diet which regulates appetite is a top priority.

2) You should be willing to eat in this way for the rest of your life.

To do this, we find your optimal ranges of carbohydrates, protein, fiber, and fat, and help zero in on any sensitivities to individual foods that may exist. Also, improving general nutrition (making the best choices within each category of food) will help your body function at its best.

All of this must be built into your life and eating habits - which takes time and support. We aim to make positive, permanent changes over a period of time.
