The Way of the Turtle - The Slow and Steady Path to Better
Health
Why
Is This Site Different From All Other Sites?
1) Other sites
tell you what to eat - this site gives you the tools and skills
to take charge of your own diet and find what works best for you.
One of the top priorities is figuring out how to be less hungry,
thus decreasing "demand" rather than artificially limiting
"supply".
2) Other sites
tell you to keep striving for some imagined "ideal weight",
a number which may be all wrong for your particular body. This site
helps you find out what your particular "lowest sustainable
weight" (LSW) is, and how to maintain it.
3) Other sites
are trying to promote the One True Way, usually in order to make
money, and often report the medical research in a biased way. This
site promises to bring the latest research in diet and nutrition,
and also in human behavior change direct to you, with as little
bias as a human being can bring into it.
4) Other sites
have a short-term focus. In fact, the diet industry thrives on repeat
customers, so they have little investment in helping permanent solutions.
This site always keeps a long-term focus, helping you to make permanent,
long-term changes. That is why I employ the Stage of Change system
developed and tested on many people. It is described in the book
Changing for Good by Prochaska, Norcross, and Diclemente.
